 This will be a HANDS-ON workshop making up a batch of potting mix while learning about the different ingredientsand the role they play in the mix. We will then share different recipes for seed raising, succulent and propagation mixes. Our aim is to use what is local - worm castings and compost, reducing plastic waste and understanding what is in our growing mediums.We would like to acknowledge and thank the Western Australian State Government and Matthew Hughes MLA for the generous grant the Kalamunda Community Garden was given for works to the Community Garden. The grant was for $10,075 which was used to install a bore, water tanks and tap near the vegetable beds. We will always be a Waterwise Garden but as our gardening endeavors expand the cost of using potable water for gardening was increasing and seemed wasteful. Not having large water bills will certainly help the Community Garden stay afloat. |
