"there are no gardening mistakes,
only experiments"

April 7th Busy Bee

8/4/2013

We are now holding our busy bees weekly to get the garden in shape for the Grand Opening on 5th May.  On 7th April Dario Franzinelli removed more unwanted trees, John Stanley completed the widening of the drive by moving the rock wall back a couple of feet, Clare Palmer and her team built the scarecrow for launch day, Linda Stanley and Donna Bicknell built the passionfruit trellis, Lisa and Murray Barton, Brian Sparkes,   Marilyn Gallagher and Alison Bartlett barrowed to the rear and levelled the rest of the load of sand.  Everyone worked like Trojans and the garden is coming along beautifully.  Well done to all the crew.  Great job!

Next busy bee is this Sunday 14th April 2013.  We have whipper snipping, weed spraying, bed and path construction and removal of pruning waste and completion of passionfruit trellis.

Other jobs that are needed to be done by volunteers are seeking sponsorship for items to go into our Welcome Packs for new members.  If you fancy lending a hand at any of the jobs that need to be done either before on or our Open Day – like being a “Greeter”, guiding people where to park, putting together the items for the welcome packs, or anything else that you think would be useful, please contact us, we are open to ideas and always welcome volunteers.
