"there are no gardening mistakes,
only experiments"
Janet Kilburn Phillips

The Art of Backyard Beekeeping Saturday 7 May 2016, 9:15-11:00am

18/3/2016

Tim Parker has worked for over twenty years in the horticultural industry. He is passionate about the many benefits gardening can bring to our lives and has particular interests in edible gardening, sustainable gardening, bee keeping, the gardening media and writing.

Being a gardener, getting into beekeeping seemed like a natural progression for Tim. He says beekeeping is one of those wonderful win win situations, it helps the survival of bees which is hugely important to our food security, but there's also the pollination services bees provide not only in your garden but your local area.  And there's the added bonus of that golden honey!

Tim’s talk is aimed at giving you a basic understanding of beekeeping, so you can take the plunge and become a beekeeper too.

Warning if you come to this talk you will probably fall in love with bees…but that's a good thing!

No need to RSVP. Please bring hat, water bottle, and your own mug for morning tea which will be provided after the presentation.

Cost: Free for current Members    Non members: $5:00 pp
