"there are no gardening mistakes,
only experiments"

March 10 Busy Bee

11/3/2013

The second busy bee on 10th March 2013 was just in time for us to carry all the prunings and loppings from the previous working day in February out on to the verge for the kerbside collection. The pile was huge, about 2 metres high and 20 metres long, plus several garden bags full of raked kikuyu were put on the kerb as well. A great job of levelling and shifting of sand was done by Craig and Clare Palmer with the aid of digger machine. Sue Gosling Smith did a great job ensuring the workers were nourished with tea and pikelets. John Stanley and Dario Franzinelli removed some unwanted acacia trees, while Linda and Lisa measured and marked out the pathways, bedding areas and pizza area. Janette Loveridge and Elise Clegg did a great job raking and bagging the unwanted kikuyu.A privacy screen was erected before work started to protect our neighbours privacy on the town side.  Our neighbour on the upper side came over with a power cord and electric jug to make sure we were well supplied with hot water for cuppas during the day. Thanks to everyone for a job well done.
